This design was lovingly made for kanakas, the real ones and for people who support the cause to protect our lands, our culture, and our way of life.

History: Iolani Palace was the residence of the last two royal rulers of Hawai'i. Its also the place where Queen Liliuokalani was imprisoned and the illegal annexation transfer of government occured under threat of violence to the native Hawaiians. It was the capital of Hawaii until the 1960s.

We offer this design in four colors: Black, Navy, Dark Gray and Maroon. 

Black: Represents the deep black grief and loss that continues to affect native Hawaiians today in many ways and parts of their lives

Navy: The mourning ocean and sky, the peoples tears

Dark Gray: The lava rocks that make up our ancient lands. The ancient protectors and stewards going back thousands of years

Maroon: the blood of the people, the blood contract our Queen was forced to sign to save the people. The Hawaiian sky when the sun set on that evening and on Hawaii's known way of life

This shirt will not be offered in brighter colors. Native Hawaiians continue to mourn the loss of their Queen and the loss of their sovereignty.
